Publicity tools

It’s important to get the word out about grants your organization receives from NCCF funds and/or affiliate foundations. Not only does it let the community know about your organization’s great work, but it can also encourage more giving. Receiving a grant from NCCF foundations also lends credibility to your organization and its programs.

While NCCF publicizes and announces many grant awards, your organization may want to go into more detail about your funded programs. The public is interested in hearing directly from the nonprofit because you are the most knowledgeable about your programs and results.

We ask that you cite the fund name and/or affiliate foundation in publicizing and acknowledging your grant. Please also note that funds are administered by the North Carolina Community Foundation. Be sure to acknowledge the source of your grant in all publicity, exhibits, news releases, website, email, social media, other digital communications and publications.

Publicity guidelines

  • Include news of your grant in any publications your organization distributes. This includes news releases, newsletters, brochures, annual reports, board minutes, lists of supporters, etc.
  • Don’t forget your website, email, social media and other digital communications. These outlets will allow you to link directly to NCCF’s website and/or the appropriate affiliate foundation page.
  • Contact the local news media. Include community newspapers, online outlets, special interest publications and local TV and radio stations, with a news release and a personal phone call.
  • Be sure to provide the name of the fund. If your grant is from a local affiliate foundation, the affiliate’s name should be included in all communications channels.
  • Include logos. Your logo and NCCF’s are a great visual representation of our partnership. See below for links to our logos and more information.
