Duplin County Community Foundation awards more than $130,000 in local grants

The board of advisors of the Duplin County Community Foundation made $133,265 in local grant awards from its community grantmaking fund and the NCCF Disaster Relief Fund in the past year.

This year the board granted from the community grantmaking fund:

  • $1,000 to the Diversity Nurtures Achievement Community Youth Center for the STEAMA @ DNA Summer Camp program
  • $750 to Duplin Christian Outreach Ministries for Feed Our Hungry Children- Summer Backpacks
  • $1,000 to the Duplin County Sheriff's Office for the DARE Program
  • $895 to Make-A-Wish Eastern North Carolina for wish granting in Duplin County
  • $825 to the Mediation Center of Eastern Carolina-Duplin for the Duplin Kindness Project
  • $500 to the North Carolina Symphony for music discovery for Duplin County preschoolers
  • $1,000 to Pet Friends of Duplin County for low cost spay/neuter program
  • $1,000 to the Ronald McDonald House of Eastern NC for general operating expenses for funding families of Duplin County
  • $1,000 to the Rones Chapel Area Community Center (RCACC) for Tutor to the Top (T2T) Growth support

  • $800 to Duplin Christian Outreach Ministries for DCOM/Feed Our Hungry Children/Summer Backpacks
  • $1,000 to Duplin County Sheriff’s Office DARE Program for general operational support
  • $750 to Girl Scouts – North Carolina Coastal Pines for Duplin County Community Outreach Program
  • $725 to Mediation Center of Eastern Carolina – Duplin for MCEC Duplin Youth Enrichment: Peace Garden
  • $450 to North Carolina Symphony Society for Music Discovery for Duplin County Preschoolers
  • $1,000 to Pet Friends of Duplin County for Low Cost Spay/Neuter Program
  • $1,000 to Prevent Blindness North Carolina for Duplin County Star Pupils
  • $795 to Rones Chapel Area Community Center (RCACC) for Child Safety Background Investigation (BI) Cost Support

The board granted from the NCCF Disaster Relief Fund:

  • $5,000 to the American Red Cross Serving Duplin for meeting unmet needs and assisting those impacted by Hurricane Florence in Duplin County
  • $20,000 to Calvary Wallace Church for meeting unmet needs and assisting those impacted by Hurricane Florence in Duplin County
  • $13,500 to the Disaster Recovery Group of Duplin/Duplin Christian Outreach Ministries for meeting unmet needs and assisting those impacted by Hurricane Florence in Duplin County
  • $45,220 to the Disaster Recovery Group of Duplin County for the Disaster Recovery Group of Duplin County's expenses directly related to repairs and other costs supporting long term recovery for Hurricane Florence victims in Duplin County
  • $2,000 to Duplin Christian Outreach Ministries to provide unmet needs assistance to those impacted by Hurricane Florence in Duplin County
  • $2,000 to Duplin Christian Outreach Ministries for meeting unmet needs and assisting those impacted by Hurricane Florence in Duplin County
  • $5,000 to East Duplin Christian Outreach for meeting unmet needs and assisting those impacted by Hurricane Florence in Duplin County
  • $2,000 to East Duplin Christian Outreach for unmet needs assisting those impacted by Hurricane Florence in Duplin County
  • $2,000 to the Eastern Baptist Association for NC Baptist on Mission work rebuilding and/or furnishing appliances and furniture for Hurricane Florence victims in Duplin County
  • $2,000 to Helping His Hands Disaster Response to support rebuilding homes in and around Wallace, in Duplin County, damaged by Hurricane Florence
  • $3,030 to the Mediation Center of Eastern Carolina-Duplin to support funding for youth in Duplin County whose families need clothing, school supplies and household items lost due to Hurricane Florence
  • $20,000 to the NC Baptist on Mission/Eastern Baptist Association for meeting unmet needs and assisting those impacted by Hurricane Florence in Duplin County
