{"title":"Eastern Band Community Foundation announces local scholarships","content":"<p>The board of advisors of the Eastern Band Community Foundation announces the availability of the Bill Taylor Memorial Scholarship and many other statewide scholarships, according to Allan Oocumma, board president.<\/p>\r\n<p>Oocumma said this is a good opportunity for Eastern Band students to further their educations. &#8220;The Eastern Band board wants to raise awareness among area youth about opportunities offered through scholarships held with the North Carolina Community Foundation,&#8221; he said. The Eastern Band Community Foundation is an affiliate of NCCF.<\/p>\r\n<p>Scholarships are available for students meeting various eligibility requirements detailed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nccommunityfoundation.org\/scholarships\">online<\/a>, where applications can be downloaded. Please search under &#8220;Qualla Reservation&#8221;.&#160; Applications also may be available at area high schools.
