We are grateful that Hurricane Dorian’s impacts were not as severe or as widespread as we have seen in the wake of other storms, but we know that there are people in our communities that are dealing with damages, hardships, even tragedy as a result, particularly along the northeastern coast.
NCCF’s Disaster Relief Fund is committed to supporting long-term recovery, resiliency and unmet needs after disaster and we are continuing to assess whether or not the storm’s impact will rise to that level of need in North Carolina. If it does, we will be ready to activate our Fund in partnership with our network of local leaders.
For now, if you wish to make a gift to support immediate relief needs resulting from Hurricane Dorian in North Carolina, we recommend the Outer Banks Community Foundation’s Disaster Relief Fund.
If you wish to make a gift supporting relief and recovery needs in the Bahamas resulting from Dorian, we recommend either Global Giving – Hurricane Dorian Relief Fund for the Bahamas or the Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties Bahamas Disaster Relief Fund.
Our NCCF Disaster Relief Fund continues long-term recovery and resiliency work addressing Hurricane Florence’s impact across eastern North Carolina.
