Montgomery County Fund awards more than $31,000 in local grants

The board of advisors of the Montgomery County Fund recently announced $31,092 in local grant awards from its community grantmaking fund, according to Michael Hayes, board president.

This year the board granted:

  • $2,400 to the Biscoe Police Department for the K9 Program
  • $2,000 to the Boy Scouts of America, Central NC Council for the Montgomery County ScoutReach
  • $3,000 to the Children's Cancer Partners of the Carolinas for the Montgomery County Childhood Cancer Safety Net
  • $5,000 to Communities In Schools of Montgomery County for student support services
  • $1,622 to East Middle School for the Circle of Friends Book Club
  • $2,570.14 to East Middle School for transforming from a library concept to learning commons at East Middle School
  • $500 to the Girl Scouts Hornet's Nest Council for the Girl Scout Leadership Experience
  • $5,000 to the Montgomery County 4-H Program for the Montgomery County 4-H Program
  • $2,500 to the Montgomery County Partnership for Children for the Tree of Hope 2020
  • $2,000 to the Montgomery County Schools - Central Office for the Back to School Block Party
  • $2,000 to the NCCE Montgomery Center for Living Well in Montgomery
  • $1,000 to the Three Rivers Land Trust for Small Towns Big Outdoors - Connecting People to Land
  • $1,500 to West Montgomery High School for the Timberwolf Cafe

Hayes thanked the community for its continued support of the Montgomery County Fund. “We are proud to support these nonprofit programs that are so vital to the community,” he said. “We are grateful to the many generous individuals and organizations that have supported our work to inspire philanthropy across our community.”
