Montgomery County Fund awards more than $42,000 in grants
The Montgomery County Fund has awarded $42,380 in grants to organizations supporting the local community.
The board of advisors granted:
- $1,500 to Boy Scouts of America, Central NC Council for Uwharrie Scoutreach
- $3,000 to Children’s Cancer Partners of the Carolinas for Montgomery County Childhood Cancer Safety Net
- $7,000 to Communities in Schools of Montgomery County for student support services
- $3,545 to Esther House of Stanly County, Inc. for general operating support with a focus on client assistance
- $2,800 to Green Ridge Elementary for adaptive playground equipment for GRES Students
- $2,000 to Green Ridge Elementary for Green Ridge Giants Care Closet
- $1,500 to Make-A-Wish Central and Western North Carolina for Fund-A-Wish in Montgomery County
- $500 to Montgomery Central High School for expansion of the Timber Café, part 2
- $1,500 to Montgomery Central High School for Clothing Lab
- $6,000 to Montgomery County 4-H Program for general operating support
- $1,035 to Montgomery County Early College for Teacher Cadet
- $500 to Montgomery County Schools for Powering up Education: Providing Reliable Energy to Fuel Digital Learning at Montgomery Learning Academy
- $3,000 to Montgomery County Schools Central Office for Book Bus
- $1,000 to Montgomery County Schools Early College High School for Phoenixes are a Class ACT
- $1,500 to Montgomery Learning Academy for motivating learning
- $3,000 to Page Street Elementary School MCS for Page Street Elementary Care Closet
- $3,000 to Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina for backpacks of nutritious food for food-insecure Montgomery County students
Funds for the grants came from MCF’s community grantmaking fund.
“We believe in the work that these local organizations do,” said Will Carpenter, advisory board president of the Montgomery County Fund. “And we’re pleased to demonstrate that through this financial support.”
MCF is an affiliate of the North Carolina Community Foundation and is led by a local volunteer advisory board. Each year, MCF uses dollars from its endowment fund to make grants to nonprofits that help the local community.

Montgomery County Fund Advisory Board Members
Advisory board members live and work in Montgomery County, positioning them to strategically leverage resources, meet local needs and access opportunities.
