Onslow Caring Communities Foundation awards more than $34,000 in local grants

The board of advisors of the Onslow Caring Communities Foundation recently announced $34,880 in local awards from the community grantmaking fund and the Dallas Fred Allen Endowment at a grant awards ceremony.

This year the board granted:

$3,000 to Prevent Blindness North Carolina for the Star Pupils Onslow County program
$2,280 to the City of Jacksonville for the HARMONY Youth Grants Board Philanthropy Initiative program
$2,500 to Sturgeon City of Jacksonville for the Sturgeon City Program Expansion program
$1,500 to the Salvation Army for Project Reclaim
$3,500 to United Way of Onslow County for the Volunteer Onslow program
$650 to the American Heart Association for the CPR in Schools: Training the Next Generation of Lifesavers program
$1,450 to the Meditation Center of Eastern Carolina- Duplin for the Onslow County Teen Court program
$20,000 to the Possumwood Acres Wildlife Sanctuary for the Come Find Your CENTER (Caring, Eco-Therapy, Nature, Tranquility, Environment, Raptors) program
