{"tinyMCE_dummy":"","title":"Women's Giving Network of Wake County awards $123,000 in local grants","url":"\/news\/womens-giving-network-of-wake-county-awards-123000-in-local-grants","meta":{"title":"","description":"","excludeFromSitemap":"No"},"ordinal":999,"content":"<p>The members of the Women's Giving Network (WGN) of Wake County recently announced $123,000 in local grant awards.<\/p>\r\n<p>This year the members granted:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>$36,500 to Alliance Medical Ministry<\/li>\r\n<li>$25,000 to Communities in Schools of Wake County<\/li>\r\n<li>$36,500 to Haven House Services<\/li>\r\n<li>$25,000 to PLM Families Together, Inc.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>At their annual Impact Celebration, held via Zoom this year, Hayden Constance,&nbsp;WGN president, thanked the membership for their continued financial commitment to providing high impact grants for the women and children of Wake County. &ldquo;We are proud to support these vital nonprofit organizations through general operating support grants during these challenging times,&rdquo; she said. &ldquo;We know that our grants and grantees will impact the trajectory of women and children&rsquo;s lives.&rdquo;<\/p>\r\n<p>The evening also featured an update from a 2019 grant recipient Jackie Craig, the co-founder and executive director of The Green Chair Project.&nbsp; Jackie shared how the 2019 grant from WGN helped to provide over 1,000 beds for children in Wake County already this year.<\/p>\r\n<p>The Women&rsquo;s Giving Network of Wake County is a giving circle of the North Carolina Community Foundation. The Network leverages the power of collective giving through a local network that supports the community in a purposeful way. The Network supports charitable organizations serving women, children and families in Wake County.
