Catawba Valley Community Foundation awards more than $52,000 in grants
The Catawba Valley Community Foundation has awarded $52,702 in grants to organizations supporting the local community.
The board of advisors granted:
- $5,000 to 957 Mobile Café for general operating support
- $2,000 to Adult Life Programs, Inc. for adult day services operating support
- $2,500 to AIDS Leadership Foothills-area Alliance for preventing overdose deaths and HIV/Hep C prevention, detection and care in injection drug users
- $2,500 to Caldwell Senior Center for general operating support
- $2,500 Catawba County Council on Aging for West Hickory Senior Center Food Pantry
- $2,500 Catawba County Partnership for Children for Parents as Teachers playgroups
- $1,222 to Catawba Science Center for Portal to Science – STEM for All
- $2,500 to Greater Hickory Cooperative Christian Ministry for support for neighbors in need
- $5,000 to Helping Hands Clinic of Caldwell County, Inc. for medical interpreter program
- $5,000 to Patrick Beaver Learning Resource Center, Inc. for supporting striving readers through teacher training and tutoring
- $3,000 to Pregnancy Care Center for maternal health and wellness
- $1,500 to Shining Hope Farms for equitable access to equine assisted psychotherapy
- $2,500 to South Caldwell Christian Ministries for keeping our families housed
- $2,500 to STEM West, Inc. for GEMS: Girls Excelling in Math and Science
- $4,980 to Strong Life Ministries for transportation assistance program
- $2,500 to The Corner Table for community kitchen general operating support
- $2,500 to The Salvation Army of Hickory for transitional housing kitchen improvement
- $2,500 to TROSA (Triangle Residential Options for Substance Abusers, Inc.) for residential substance abuse recovery services for individuals from the Catawba Valley
Funds for the grants came from CVCF’s community grantmaking fund and the Brian Long Youth Fund.
“We’re fortunate to have so many organizations that aid residents in our community,” said Jamie Treadaway, advisory board president of the Catawba Valley Community Foundation. “We’re privileged to show our support.”
CVCF is an affiliate of the North Carolina Community Foundation and is led by a local volunteer advisory board. Each year, CVCF uses dollars from its endowment funds to make grants to nonprofits that help the local community.

Catawba Valley Community Foundation Advisory Board Members
