Development Officer – East

The North Carolina Community Foundation transforms the collective generosity of our donors into a permanent source of community support, with a focus on the state’s rural areas. NCCF partners with donors and a network of affiliates to sustain over 1,300 endowments totaling over $600 million in assets. Nearly $360 million has been awarded as grants to charitable organizations and scholarships to students, creating stronger communities for generations to come.

Are you an experienced development professional with a passion for helping North Carolinians achieve their philanthropic goals at a thriving community foundation?

This role works closely with prospective and current donors, as well as professional advisors, across eastern North Carolina to develop and implement charitable giving strategies through the North Carolina Community Foundation. The position also supports the development efforts of affiliate community foundations throughout the region.

The ideal candidate brings a strong commitment to philanthropy, charitable giving, and prospect development. In this role, the Foundation’s Development Team leads the process of establishing new funds and guiding donors in creating meaningful, lasting impact.

We are currently seeking a qualified candidate for a Development Officer serving eastern North Carolina. The following counties are included in our eastern region: Beaufort, Bertie, Brunswick, Camden, Carteret, Chowan, Columbus, Craven, Currituck, Dare, Duplin, Gates, Greene, Hertford, Hyde, Jones, Lenoir, Martin, New Hanover, Onslow, Pamlico, Pasquotank, Pender, Perquimans, Pitt, Robeson and Sampson.

Minimum Qualifications:

The hiring range for this role is $85,000 – $90,000, depending on qualifications and experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and the opportunity to work with a committed, engaged team.
