Operations Support Specialist – Scholarships
The North Carolina Community Foundation transforms the collective generosity of our donors into a permanent source of community support, with a focus on the state’s rural areas. NCCF partners with donors and a network of affiliates to sustain over 1,300 endowments totaling over $600 million in assets. Nearly $360 million has been awarded as grants to charitable organizations and scholarships to students, creating stronger communities for generations to come.
We are currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill the role of Operations Support Specialist- Scholarships. NCCF administers over 100 scholarship funds that award approximately $1.5 million in scholarships annually to about 400 students. The Operations Support Specialist will be a key part of NCCF’s work to support students’ higher-education goals.
Summary
The Operations Support Specialist will provide a range of administrative and clerical duties supporting scholarships processes. This is a full-time administrative position based at NCCF’s headquarters in Raleigh. The Operations Support Specialist embraces and models values of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging across all NCCF operations as we advance our mission. This role is a non-exempt, hourly role and requires a minimum number of days in the office each week. When not in the office, work may be performed from a Raleigh-based location.
Core responsibilities include:
- Administrative and clerical support for the Philanthropic Services department, primarily the Scholarships Team.
- CRM and Scholarships Portal data entry, maintenance, reporting and document management.
- Scholarship application review, organization, and processing.
- Scholarship award payment processing.
- Internal communication with staff.
- Document management on NCCF shared drive.
- External communication with stakeholders including Outlook email, phone calls, and Scholarships Portal.
- Process documentation and training.
- Cross functional project coordination, support, and collaboration.
- Technical support for in-person, virtual and hybrid meetings.
- Event support and scheduling.
- Provide front desk coverage and mail processing in rotation with other operations support team members, answering main office phone and other administrative duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Education:
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience:
- Three or more years of work experience requrired.
- Experience in philanthropic/nonprofit sector administrative support preferred.

We offer a comprehensive benefits package and the opportunity to work with a committed, engaged team. The hiring range for this position is $49,000 to $53,000, depending upon qualifications and experience. NCCF is an equal opportunity employer.
