Cary Women’s Giving Network awards $11,000 in grants, hosts reception honoring recipients

The Cary Women’s Giving Network, a North Carolina Community Foundation giving circle, has awarded $11,000 in grants to organizations supporting the local community.

CWGN members granted:

“We are honored to support these three nonprofits through our grants,” said Sheila Ogle, president of the Cary Women’s Giving Network. “Permanent philanthropy is the cornerstone of strengthening our communities.”

CWGN members and representatives from each of the nonprofits gathered on June 16. Nonprofit leaders spoke about the mission and goals of their organizations.

Each year, CWGN’s members use dollars from its fund to make grants to eligible local organizations, including nonprofits, local governments, schools and churches.

Cary Women’s Giving Network Leadership
Members are volunteers who live and work in Cary, positioning them to strategically leverage resources, meet local needs and access opportunities. In addition to Ogle, board members include Mary Jo Hill (grants chair), Alisa Wright Colopy (education chair), Virginia Anthony (membership chair).
