Franklin County Community Foundation awards local education mini-grants (February 2017)

The board of advisors of the Franklin County Community Foundation announces grants from its education fund.

This year’s recipients included:

• Bunn High School for meal preparation, Wildcat Study Skills Club, Science Olympiad and enrichment programs, Stage Combat Workshop and AP calculus review.
• Edward Best Elementary School for STEM bins for second grade and Calculating Our Growth
• Laurel Mill Elementary for Next Generation Science and clay trinket bowls
• Long Mill Elementary for Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes
• Louisburg High School for We Can Print What?
• Bunn Elementary for Fired Up for Fraction Fun and Focus in on Math

Diane Fleming, education mini-grants chair, thanked the community for support of the Franklin County Community Foundation. “These grants are important to our local schools and community as a whole,” she said. “This is an excellent opportunity for our teachers to get funding for their classroom projects.”
