Futrell-Mauldin Community Foundation for Greater Rocky Mount awards more than $56,000 in grants

The Futrell-Mauldin Community Foundation for Greater Rocky Mount (FMCF) has awarded $56,620 in grants to programs supporting the local community.

The board of advisors granted:

  • $3,000 to A Touch of the Father's Love, Inc. Ministry and Food Pantry for Rolling in Food donation boxes
  • $8,000 to Boys & Girls Club of the Tar River Region for Project Learn
  • $5,000 to Down East Partnership for Children for building capacity to support effective learning for children, 0 to 8
  • $3,000 to Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina, Inc. for nourishing families in Greater Rocky Mount
  • $1,000 to Happy Hill Community Club for Hill to Heal
  • $2,000 to Inter-Faith Food Shuttle for improving health and fighting hunger in Rocky Mount
  • $5,000 to Meals on Wheels of Rocky Mount for the frozen food program
  • $3,000 to My Sister’s House for supporting victims of domestic violence
  • $5,000 to Peacemakers of Rocky Mount, Inc. for Freedom School
  • $1,000 to Ripe for Revival for a community health and nutrition education van upfit
  • $2,500 to Teach for America – Eastern North Carolina for supporting Rocky Mount leaders for educational equity
  • $5,000 to The Salvation Army of Rocky Mount for Joshua’s Challenge Literacy Program
  • $1,120 to The Wright’s Center, Inc. for their adult day health care program
  • $2,000 to Tri-County Industries for building improvements
  • $3,000 to TROSA (Triangle Residential Options for Substance Abusers, Inc.) for residential substance abuse recovery services for individuals from Rocky Mount
  • $7,000 to United Community Ministries for a community shelter

Funds for the grants came from FMCF’s community grantmaking fund.

“These organizations help keep our community vibrant and strong,” said Sally Adams, advisory board president of the Futrell-Mauldin Community Foundation. “Supporting them with these funds is a privilege.”

FMCF is an affiliate of the North Carolina Community Foundation and is led by a local volunteer advisory board.

Each year, FMCF uses dollars from its endowment fund to make grants to local nonprofit organizations.
