Jackson County Community Foundation awards more than $30,000 in local grants

Jackson County Community Foundation announces more than $30,000 in local grants.

The board of advisors of the Jackson County Community Foundation, in partnership with the Balsam Mountain Preserve Fund for Jackson County, recently announced $34,150 in local grant awards.

This year the following grants were made from the JCCF’s community grantmaking fund:

Ken Torok, board president, thanked the community for its continued support of the Jackson County Community Foundation. “We are proud to support these nonprofit programs that are so vital to our community. Likewise, we are also grateful for the many generous individuals and
organizations who have invested their gifts with us to make Jackson County a better place to live.”

The Balsam Mountain Preserve Fund for Jackson County announced the following grants as well:

“The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on families of Jackson County continues and we are grateful to the members of the Balsam Mountain Preserve Fund for the action they have taken to support organizations serving community,” said Linda Outlaw, Balsam Mountain Preserve
member and Jackson Community Foundation grants chair.

The Balsam Mountain Preserve Fund for Jackson County is one of 11 funds that make up the Jackson County Community Foundation. “We are appreciative of the support of Jackson County’s community grantmaking fund, which has provided more than $150,000 in grants over time, but also of funds like the Balsam Mountain Preserve Fund, for their continued trust and partnership in philanthropy,” Torok said.
