Lenoir County Community Foundation awards more than $13,000 in grants

The board of advisors of the Lenoir County Community Foundation has awarded $13,050 in local grants from its community grantmaking fund, the Oakland Fund, and the Warren and Barbara Perry Fund.

The board granted:

  • $2,225 to Community Council for the Arts for facility rental program
  • $3,000 to Hope Preparatory School for Remarkable Readers Enrichment Program
  • $1,525 to Mediation Center of Eastern Carolina – Duplin for MCEC Building Peace in Communities
  • $1,500 to North Carolina Symphony for ensembles in the schools for Lenoir County students
  • $1,575 to Pink Hill Elementary for Inside, Outside, Upside Down: Promoting Musical Literacy
  • $1,000 to RADD, Inc. for the RADD, Inc.’s annual day trip (cost of tickets and meals)
  • $2,225 to S.C. Youth Center for Project REACH

"The Lenoir County Community Foundation has seen tremendous growth, allowing our local board to give back in even bigger ways," said Sandy Skirving, the advisory board president. "In the past 10 years, we have awarded more than $100,000 to deserving local nonprofits to help better Lenoir County. With the help of local donors and volunteers, that impact continues to grow."

The LCCF makes it easy to support your community. You can open an endowment for your favorite cause at any time or contribute to an existing fund in any amount.
