Meet new members of the AIC for 2025

The Affiliate Impact Committee serves as a critical link between our 53 affiliate foundations and NCCF’s statewide board and is comprised of leaders from across our statewide affiliate network.

We are pleased to welcome four new members! NCCF’s AIC is chaired by NCCF Statewide Board Member Jan Hayes, a former board member of the Lee County Community Foundation. Other members are: Natalie Bess (Edgecombe), Bud Christman (Madison), Gwen Clark (Avery), Becky High (Columbus), and Rodney Walton (Northern Albemarle).

Zach Barricklow, Ed.D. (Alleghany)

Zach Barricklow

Barricklow is associate vice president for strategy and rural innovation at the North Carolina Community College System. His work focuses on advancing the statewide strategic plan that supports 58 community colleges, with a specific focus on serving and strengthening the over 40 rural colleges across the state.

Barricklow also serves as the liaison for rural engagement and research at the Belk Center for Community College Leadership and Research at NC State University.

Heather Brewer (Pamlico)

Heather Brewer

Brewer is a licensed clinical social worker and has a counseling practice. She is an award-winning author, having won the Indie B.R.A.G medallion and the Royal Dragonfly award.

She lives by the water in Oriental and enjoys spending time with her husband, running, paddle boarding, yoga and reading.  

Nathan Rice (Harnett)

Nathan Rice

A native of Mebane, Rice is the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Advancement at Campbell University. Rice has served on the Harnett County Economic Development Council and as a Wyndham Championship chairperson.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in religion from Campbell in 2007, and completed his master’s degree of divinity at Wake Forest University in 2012.

LaShawndra White, Ed.D. (Johnston)

LaShawndra White

A native of Maysville, White is the Director of Workforce Training & Community Programs at Johnston Community College and has nearly 20 years of experience in higher education at North Carolina community colleges and universities.

White received her bachelor’s degree in media studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro,a master’s degree in adult education from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, and a doctorate in educational leadership from Appalachian State University.
