NC Community Foundation hosts Pop-Up Philanthropy event in Wilmington (May 2018)
The North Carolina Community Foundation and local affiliate foundations, the New Hanover County Community Foundation and the Brunswick County Community Foundation, hosted Wilmington’s Pop-Up Philanthropy event April 18 at the Cameron Art Museum.
The event featured discussion of opportunities for collaboration among fundholders, the local affiliates and NCCF to increase local philanthropic impact. On hand to meet with local philanthropists, professional advisors and nonprofit leaders were NCCF senior staff and local and statewide board members.
“Pop-Up Philanthropy provided us with a wonderful opportunity to showcase resources the North Carolina Community Foundation provides in the southeastern region in partnership with our local affiliates, the New Hanover County Community Foundation and the Brunswick County Community Foundation,” said Jennifer Tolle Whiteside, NCCF CEO and president. “We’re proud to be the only statewide community foundation serving North Carolina and the largest community foundation serving eastern North Carolina. We see a lot of interest in how individuals, families, organizations and businesses can create endowment funds that will serve as permanent resources in this community forever, funding important nonprofit programs that impact local needs.”
The New Hanover County Community Foundation and the Brunswick County Community Foundation have deep roots in southeastern North Carolina. They have been serving the community for the past 31 years and are local affiliate foundations of the North Carolina Community Foundation.
