Applying for grants

The Watauga County Community Foundation (WCCF) will accept grant applications from March 3, 2023, to NOON on April 4, 2023. Funds are available for qualified nonprofits serving the local community.  
 
Grants typically range between $1,000 and $2,500. Larger amounts may be considered for projects or initiatives with the potential to achieve significant positive impact for Watauga County. Total grantmaking will not exceed $28,000.

How to apply 

Organizations must apply using NCCF’s online application system

  • Read the guidelines before you apply. Your application may not be considered if you fail to follow any of these guidelines. 
  • If this is your first time applying, follow the instructions in Training Module I to create a profile. If your organization already has an account use your information to log in. 
  • Follow the instructions in Training Module II to add a grant application. Once registered, you can access more information about the application process.

About WCCF's grantmaking

Founded in 1991, the Watauga County Community Foundation is an affiliate of NCCF led by a local volunteer advisory board. Each year, WCCF uses dollars from their endowment funds to make grants to nonprofits that help the local community.  

Grants will be awarded from the following funds:

  • Watauga Legacy Fund respond to changing community needs and to enhance the quality of community life.
  • Armfield and Rachel Rivers Coffey Memorial Fund supports the Watauga Humane Society and WCCF.

In 2022, WCCF awarded more than $25,000 in grants. Learn more about past grant recipients.
