About George
George, a native of western North Carolina, is responsible for development in the communities that make up the western region of the state. He is an experienced nonprofit professional and licensed attorney. George was in private law practice in North Carolina before transitioning to the nonprofit sector. Most recently he served as Executive Director of Mountain Conservation Trust of Georgia, Inc. Prior to that he was General Counsel and Land Acquisition Director for Catawba Lands Conservancy/Carolina Thread Trail, and Executive Director of the Edisto Island Open Land Trust.
George obtained his bachelor’s and law degrees from Wake Forest University, and a certificate in Nonprofit Management from Duke University.
