“We’re happy to provide these financial resources to our local organizations,” said Michele Gregory, advisory board president of the Carteret Community Foundation. “This support is a testament to our belief in the work they do in our community.”
CCF board members, fundholders and representatives from some of the nonprofits gathered on Nov. 12 to network and celebrate their collective work to improve lives and support the community.
Funds for 2024 grants came from CCF’s community grantmaking fund, the J. O. and Ruth Barbour Memorial Fund for Elementary Education in Carteret County, the J. O. and Ruth Barbour Memorial Fund for Wildlife Habitat Conservation, and the Pearl’s Pantry Fund. Each year, CCF’s local volunteer advisory board uses dollars from its endowment funds to make grants to eligible local organizations, including nonprofits, local governments, schools and churches.
