Franklin County Community Foundation awards more than $6,000 in grants
The Franklin County Community Foundation, a North Carolina Community Foundation affiliate, has awarded $6,110 in grants to eight organizations supporting the local community.
The board of advisors granted:
- $935 to C&C Innovations of Granville, Corp. for Yes We Can summer literacy project
- $1,000 to Care & Share Center, Inc. for general operating support
- $1,000 to Castalia STEAM Outdoor Center for increasing accessibility to STEAM outdoor public programs
- $500 to Diaper Bank of NC for Franklin County hygiene access initiative
- $620 to Franklin County Humane Society, doing business as Paws for Life NC, for spaying and neutering community pets of Franklin County
- $620 to Legal Aid of North Carolina for supporting Franklin County residents in need of civil legal services
- $500 to Sowing Seeds NC, Inc. for general operating support
- $935 to Vision’s Education Learning & Tutoring Services for general operating support
“Investing in local nonprofits and community organizations is crucial for community resilience,” said Ashley Jarema, advisory board president of the Franklin County Community Foundation. “Our permanent philanthropy ensures our grants make a significant difference.”
Funds for 2025 grants came from FCCF’s community grantmaking fund and the Franklin County Education Endowment. Each year, FCCF’s advisory board uses dollars from its endowment funds to make grants to eligible local organizations, including nonprofits, local governments, schools and churches.

Franklin County Community Foundation Advisory Board Members
Advisory board members are volunteers who live and work in Franklin County, positioning them to strategically leverage resources, meet local needs and access opportunities. In addition to Jarema, board members include Pamela Andrejev (vice president), Cherry Ayscue (secretary), Morgan Barnes, Ruth Wheless and Laurica Yancey.
