Futrell-Mauldin Community Foundation for Greater Rocky Mount awards over $61,000 in grants
The Futrell-Mauldin Community Foundation for Greater Rocky Mount, a North Carolina Community Foundation affiliate, has awarded $61,380 in grants to organizations supporting the local community.
The board of advisors granted:
- $5,880 to A Touch of the Father’s Love, Inc. Ministry & Food Pantry, for Caring for our Community – A Touch of the Father’s Love, Inc.
- $5,000 to the American Red Cross for disaster relief (including home fires)
- $5,500 to Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tar River Region Formula for Impact for general operating support
- $3,000 to Communities in Schools of North Carolina for Expanding Student Possibilities
- $5,000 to Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina, Inc., for Nourishing Families in Greater Rocky Mount
- $3,500 to Hill Family Farm Education Center for general operating support
- $7,500 to Meals on Wheels of Rocky Mount for Frozen Food Program
- $5,000 to Peacemakers of Rocky Mount, Inc., for Summer Reading Program
- $2,500 to Ripe for Revival for Revival Education Program
- $6,000 to the Salvation Army of Rocky Mount for Joshua’s Challenge Literacy Program
- $2,000 to Teach For America – North Carolina for retaining educators and leaders in Rocky Mount
- $2,500 to TROSA (Triangle Residential Options for Substance Abusers, Inc.) for residential recovery services for individuals from Rocky Mount
- $8,000 to United Community Ministries for Community Shelter
“These organizations support our community with crucial needs – from food, to shelter, to education and beyond,” said Beth Turnage, advisory board president of the Futrell-Mauldin Community Foundation. “We are pleased to support their work through our community grantmaking.”
Funds for 2024 grants came from FMCF’s community grantmaking fund. Each year, FMCF’s local volunteer advisory board uses dollars from its endowment fund to make grants to eligible local organizations, including nonprofits, local governments, schools and churches.
