Graham County Community Foundation awards more than $2,700 in grants
The Graham County Community Foundation, a North Carolina Community Foundation affiliate, has awarded $2,770 in grants to four organizations supporting the local community.
The board of advisors granted:
- $570 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Western North Carolina for expanding potential in Graham County youth
- $1,200 to Four Square Community Action, Inc. for Head Start
- $500 to Make-A-Wish Central and Western North Carolina for wish enhancements for every wish child in Graham County
- $500 to Prevent Blindness North Carolina for Graham County vision screening program
“We are honored to provide grants to local nonprofits and community organizations,” said Brady Cody, advisory board president of the Graham County Community Foundation. “Permanent philanthropy is essential to the well-being of our communities.”
Funds for 2025 grants came from GCCF’s community grantmaking fund. Each year, GCCF’s advisory board uses dollars from its endowment fund to make grants to eligible local organizations, including nonprofits, local governments, schools and churches.
The grants are a portion of community support provided by GCCF this year. Earlier this year, GCCF granted $75,000 through the NCCF Disaster Relief Fund. The grants were awarded to local organizations to support long-term recovery, resiliency and unmet needs related to Hurricane Helene. Learn more about these grants.
