GCCF was able to more than double their 2023 grants total thanks to a generous contribution to their community grantmaking fund from the Frank and Lou Shackelford Family Foundation.
“A vibrant community invests itself, and that’s what we’re doing.” said Michael Rhodes, advisory board president of the Greene County Community Foundation. “We are especially grateful to the Shackelford family for their gift which allowed us to increase our investment in the Greene County community this year.”
Funds for 2024 grants came from GCCF’s community grantmaking fund, and the Clarence H. and Florence C. Moye Memorial Endowment. Each year, GCCF’s local volunteer advisory board uses dollars from its endowment funds to make grants to eligible local organizations, including nonprofits, local governments, schools and churches.
