Harnett County Community Foundation awards more than $9,000 in grants
The Harnett County Community Foundation, a North Carolina Community Foundation affiliate, has awarded $9,500 in grants to eight organizations supporting the local community.
The board of advisors granted:
- $1,000 to Children’s Cancer Partners of the Carolinas for Harnett County Childhood Cancer Safety Net
- $2,000 to Dunn Police Athletic & Activities League, Inc. for after-school program
- $2,000 to Dunn United Ministerial Association for War on Food Insecurities 2025
- $500 to Habitat for Humanity of Harnett County, Inc. for Building Hope in Harnett County
- $500 to North Carolina Symphony for music discovery for Harnett County preschoolers
- $2,000 to SAFE of Harnett County for general operating support
- $500 to Special Olympics North Carolina for Special Olympics North Carolina Harnett County
- $1,000 to Western Harnett Lions Club for vision assistance
“We are deeply honored to support local nonprofits and community organizations through our grants,” said Patricia Harmon-Lewis, advisory board president of the Harnett County Community Foundation. “Permanent philanthropy is vital to the strength and resilience of our communities.”
Funds for 2025 grants came from HCCF’s community grantmaking fund. Each year, HCCF’s advisory board uses dollars from its endowment fund to make grants to eligible local organizations, including nonprofits, local governments, schools and churches.

Harnett County Community Foundation Advisory Board Members
Advisory board members are volunteers who live and work in Harnett County, positioning them to strategically leverage resources, meet local needs and access opportunities. In addition to Harmon-Lewis, board members include Nathan Rice (vice president), Allison Castle, Emily Sprague, Angie Stewart and Chris Stewart.
