The Haywood County Community Foundation, a North Carolina Community Foundation affiliate, has awarded $4,410 in grants to five organizations supporting the local community.
The board of advisors granted:
- $1,000 to HIGHTS for healthy food for after-school program
- $1,000 to KARE, Inc. for Essentials for Continued Impact
- $705 to Long’s Chapel Methodist Church, Inc. for Second Season Neighborhood Thrift Store and Food Pantry
- $1,000 to REACH of Haywood County for general operating support
- $705 for Uncomplicated Kitchen for Means in an Instant – Haywood
“We take pride in supporting local nonprofits and community organizations with our grants,” said Clay Dangerfield, advisory board president of the Haywood County Community Foundation. “Permanent philanthropy is crucial for the strength of our communities.”
Funds for 2025 grants came from HCCF’s community grantmaking fund. Each year, HCCF’s advisory board uses dollars from its endowment fund to make grants to eligible local organizations, including nonprofits, local governments, schools and churches.

The grants are a portion of community support provided by HCCF this year. Earlier this year, HCCF granted $180,000 through the NCCF Disaster Relief Fund. The grants were awarded to local organizations to support long-term recovery, resiliency and unmet needs related to Hurricane Helene. Learn more about these grants.
