Hoke County Community Foundation awards more than $27,000 in grants
The Hoke County Community Foundation, a North Carolina Community Foundation affiliate, has awarded $27,490 in grants to 13 organizations supporting the local community.
The board of advisors granted:
- $1,600 to Alpha Life Pregnancy Center for client care and support program expansion
- $2,570 to Children’s Cancer Partners of the Carolinas for Hoke County Childhood Cancer Safety Net
- $2,500 to Community Outreach Advocate Resource and Referral Association for Open Door soup kitchen
- $2,000 to Hoke County Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Center, Inc. for victims’ recovery assistance
- $3,820 to Hoke County High School to support the school’s theater program
- $2,500 to Hoke Reading/Literacy Council for creating global citizenship through literacy enrichment
- $2,000 to Made4Me, Inc. for Making Abilities Possible
- $500 to Mill Prong Preservation, Inc. for printing of educational materials
- $2,500 to NC Agricultural Foundation, Inc. for 2025 Hoke County 4-H summer enrichment program
- $1,000 to North Carolina Symphony for music discovery for Hoke County preschoolers
- $2,000 to Prevent Blindness North Carolina for Hoke County vision screening project
- $2,000 to Raeford United Methodist Church for Holiday Helpers
- $2,500 to Special Olympics North Carolina for Special Olympics North Carolina Hoke County
“Local nonprofits and community organizations are the backbone of our communities,” said Anna Smith, advisory board president of the Hoke County Community Foundation. “Permanent philanthropy and impactful grants are essential to their success and resilience.”
Funds for 2025 grants came from HCCF’s community grantmaking fund and the Mary Archie McNeill Endowment Fund. Each year, HCCF’s advisory board uses dollars from its endowment funds to make grants to eligible local organizations, including nonprofits, local governments, schools and churches.

Hoke County Community Foundation Advisory Board Members
Advisory board members are volunteers who live and work in Hoke County, positioning them to strategically leverage resources, meet local needs and access opportunities.
