“Local nonprofits and community organizations are essential to community well-being,” said Ronald Copley, advisory board president of the New Hanover County Community Foundation. “Permanent philanthropy and impactful grants are key to their success.”
Funds for 2025 grants came from NHCCF’s community grantmaking fund, the 1898 Memorial Endowment, the Food Bank of Coastal Carolina Fund, the Lucille Murchison Marvin Fund, and the Suzanne and George Taylor Endowment. Each year, NHCCF’s advisory board uses dollars from its endowment funds to make grants to eligible local organizations, including nonprofits, local governments, schools and churches.
NHCCF has deep roots in southeastern North Carolina. A descendant of the former Community Foundation of Southeastern North Carolina, it has been serving the community since 1987 and is led by a local volunteer advisory board that helps build community assets through the creation of permanent endowments, makes grants and leverages leadership – all for the benefit of New Hanover County.
