Women Givers of Northeast North Carolina awards $11,160 in grants
The Women Givers of Northeast North Carolina, a North Carolina Community Foundation giving circle, has awarded $11,160 in grants to seven organizations supporting the local community.
The giving circle granted:
- $500 to Autism Society of NC for Autism resource specialist
- $1,000 to The Beloved Haven for GRACE Outreach
- $5,000 to Boys & Girls Club of the Albemarle for general operating support
- $1,000 to Dream Hunt & Fishing Program for Outdoor Adventure
- $729 to LaCasa at First United Methodist for Learning Everywhere
- $871 to The Salvation Army of Elizabeth City for Joshua Challenge
- $2,500 to Wellness Village Inc for Homeless Help
“Supporting local nonprofits and community organizations like these is one of the most direct ways to strengthen our community,” said Erin Nixon, co-chair of the Women Givers of Northeast North Carolina.
Each year, the Women Givers of Northeast North Carolina uses dollars from its endowment to make grants to eligible local organizations, including nonprofits, local governments, schools and churches.

Members are volunteers who understand community needs. In addition to Nixon, giving circle leadership includes Phyllis Bosomworth (co-chair and secretary) and Judy Stallings (treasurer).
