C. Reid Ross Rotary Scholarship Endowment
Graduating senior(s) of Harnett Central High School and Western Harnett High School attending an accredited college or university who are seeking a degree in Education.
CASL Scholarship Fund in Memory of Lane Meyer
High school seniors who are current participants with the Capital Area Soccer League (CASL) at the Challenge Level and above, and who exemplify Lane Meyer’s legacy of excellence and achievement in academics, soccer skills, sportsmanship, friendships, and school and community involvement. In addition to these qualifications, applicants should be those who build spirit on the athletic field as Lane Meyer did as a CASL soccer player.
Dr. Henderson D. Mabe Jr. Scholarship Endowment Fund
- Scholarship Criteria for Undergraduate Students: Scholarships are available for graduates or graduating seniors from a Harnett County high school, who are attending a college, university, community or junior college, technical school, nursing school, or other post-high school training, pursuing a degree or a certificate in the medical fields, such as nursing, medical technology, radiology technology, pharmacy, and other curricula focusing on medical services. Preference is given to those living in or around Erwin, North Carolina, and to those who have a financial need. PLEASE NOTE: Applicants are also asked to include a listing of other scholarship applied for and/or received.
- Scholarship Criteria for Medical School Students: Scholarships are available for graduates of a college or university who graduated from a Harnett County high school and are now a full-time medical student at Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University, Duke University School of Medicine, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine, or Wake Forest University School of Medicine. Preference is given to those whose residence was in or around Erwin, North Carolina, and to those who demonstrate financial need.
F.H. “Sammy” Ross Jr. and Gary “GJ” Johnston Memorial Scholarship
Eligible applicants are full or part-time employees of Linville Ridge, children whose parents or legal guardians are employed by Linville Ridge, grandchildren of Linville Ridge employees, or children of retired Linville Ridge employees who were employed a minimum of 3 years. Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and be enrolled, or plan to be enrolled for the upcoming semester, for at least 12 semester hours at an accredited institution of higher education. The committee considers academic standing, community involvement, extracurricular activities, and motivation. Financial need may be taken into account.
Gene L. Reese Scholarship Endowment
High school students and high school graduates that are pursuing dental auxiliary careers (such as dental assistants, dental hygienists and dental lab technicians) in the Tarheel Study Club counties of Ashe, Avery, Mitchell and Watauga.
Highlands Country Club Scholarship Fund
Individuals between the ages of 16 and 25 who have received or are expecting to receive a high school degree or its equivalent and who have worked a minimum of two complete seasons at Highlands Country Club, or are children of an employee of Highlands Country Club who has worked a minimum of two complete seasons at Highlands Country Club; who are enrolled full time in undergraduate studies at a two-year or four-year accredited community college or college or university; and have a minimum 2.5 GPA. Recipient(s) will be chosen on the basis of academic achievement, school and community activities, motivation and leadership. Financial need may also be taken into consideration.
Eligible students must exemplify Lane Meyer’s legacy of excellence and achievement in academics, athletics, friendships and community service. Special emphasis will be given to students who excel in academics, soccer skills and sportsmanship, school and community involvement. Students will be selected from Wake Forest High School and/or Rolesville High School and must be members of the Wake Forest-Rolesville High School Soccer Team. Eligible students will be those who build spirit in the classroom, on the athletic field, and in the school community.
Persons eligible to receive scholarships shall possess the following qualifications: Current and former employees of Mountaintop Golf and Lake Club, and dependents of current employees of Mountaintop Golf and Lake Club who plan to pursue a degree on a full-time basis (minimum of 12 hours enrolled) at one of the following: 1) 2-year community college; 2) a four-year college or university; or 3) a 2-year or 4-year specialty school related to the hospitality field of study such as a culinary school. Scholarship applicants will be evaluated based on criteria including, but not limited to, demonstrated financial need, academic performance, and other considerations such as extra-curricular activities. Funds from the Scholarship Endowment may be used to pay tuition, fees, and other costs related to education including room and board.
Nath Thompson Scholarship Endowment
Boys who wish to attend camp, who have demonstrated good citizenship in their communities, and who have significant financial needs.
Peter S. Slomianyj Scholarship Fund
Subway employees or children of Subway employees who have worked at least 500 hours over the last 12 months. Students must have a 2.0 GPA in high school or a 2.5 GPA in college.
Raleigh Alumnae Delta Scholarship Endowment
Academic performance, school and community activities, service, special achievements, recommendations, and successful and active participation in the programs of the Raleigh Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Raleigh Alumnae Delta Scholarship Endowment for Non-Traditional Students
Non-traditional students planning to attend a two-year or four-year college, university or technical certification program who did not finish college or never attended college. Special consideration will be given to Black/African American women ages 30 years and above.
Robert E. Barnhill Sr. Scholarship Fund
Graduating high school senior who is a North Carolina resident and plans to attend a four-year college or university as a full-time student. Considered are leadership potential, community involvement, physical vigor, academic achievement and financial need. Special consideration is given to family of current and retired employees of Barnhill Contracting Company (family is defined as a spouse of an officer or employee, a biological or adopted lineal descendant of an officer or employee, and a spouse of a lineal descendant, and does not include stepfamily members). ESSAY PROMPT: Describe an experience that has had a significant impact on your life and then explain why you are applying for the Robert E. Barnhill, Sr. Scholarship.
The Leland Speed Scholarship Endowment
Individuals who have received or are expecting to receive a high school degree or its equivalent; and have worked at least one complete season at Highlands Falls Country Club, located in Highlands, North Carolina (“Club”) or be the child or grandchild of a Club employee who has worked a minimum of one complete season at the Club; and are seeking continued education at a trade school, technical school, community college, two-year or four-year college or university. Recipient(s) will be chosen based on academic achievement, school and community activities, motivation and leadership. Financial need may also be taken into consideration, especially in the event a tie-breaker is needed.
The Scottie W. Cox Memorial Scholarship of NCCCLA
Employee of a learning resources center/library in North Carolina having at least a bachelor’s degree and taking advanced courses for professional development or in pursuit of a master’s or doctoral degree in the library and information studies field. The courses must be offered by and accredited educational institution or other charitable organization.
