The Alleghany County Community Foundation recently announced 2014 grant recipients from the Alleghany Opportunity Fund. ACCF awarded five grants totalling $3,100. This year's recipients were:
Alleghany Connections: $600 for In-School Tutoring Project
Alleghany Planning Committee: $1,000 for the Emergency Assistance Program
Appalachian Senior Programs: $500 for the Foster Grandparent and Senior Companion Programs
Prevent Blindness NC: $500 for the Star Pupils Program in Alleghany County
Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina: $500 for Partner Agency Support-Rural Delivery Fees
