Ashe County Community Foundation awards local grants (August 2015)

The Ashe County Community Foundation recently announced 2015 grant recipients from the Daniel Lee “Dan” Eldreth Memorial Endowment.

The Eldreth Memorial Endowment was established to honor the memory and legacy of service to the community of Dan Eldreth.  Requests emphasizing education are given special consideration.

In 2015, ACCF awarded four grants totalling $3,230 from the Eldreth Memorial Endowment.  This year’s recipients were:

• New River Conservancy: $500 for the New River Watchers project
• Appalachian State University: $900 for Appalachian Senior Programs
• Prevent Blindness North Carolina: $900 for Star Pupils Ashe County
• Imagination Ashe: $930 for Dolly Books for Raising a Reader 2015-16
