Ashe County Community Foundation awards more than $5,000 in local grants (June 2020)

The board of advisors of the Ashe County Community Foundation recently announced $5,150 in local grant awards from its community grantmaking fund and Daniel Lee “Dan” Eldreth Memorial Endowment.

This year the board granted:

• $1,000 to Appalachian State University for the Appalachian Senior Programs
• $871 to the Ashe County Public Library for the STEAM Dreams Come True at Your Library program
• $779 to Ashe Services for Aging for the Wellness in the Workplace program
• $500 to Carolina Cross Connection for the home repair program
• $500 to the Hospital Hospitality House of Winston Salem (SECU Family House) for the Family House Family Financial Assistance Fund (FAF)
• $500 to the North Carolina Symphony for the virtual interactive stage program for Ashe County students
• $1,000 to Wilkes Community College for Ashe family literacy childcare
