Avery Community Foundation awards $3,260 in local grants | North Carolina Community Foundation

The board of advisors of the Avery Community Foundation recently announced $3,260 in local grant awards from the community grantmaking fund.

This year the board granted:

$500 to the Mountain Alliance for the Mountain Alliance Leadership Development and Afterschool Support Program
$880 to Special Olympics Avery County for general operating support
$880 to Spirit Ride Inc. for the Help Us Never Say No program
$500 to WAMY Community Action, Inc. for the Gardening Program
$500 to the Western Youth Network for the WYN Youth Mentoring Program Avery County

Jamey Thompson, board president, thanked the community for its support of the Avery Community Foundation. “We are proud to support these nonprofit programs that are so vital to the community,” he said. “We are grateful to the many generous individuals and organizations that have supported our work to inspire philanthropy across our community.”
