Beaufort-Hyde Community Foundation announces three new local funds and a new board vice president

The board of advisors of the Beaufort-Hyde Community Foundation announces three new local funds and a new advisory board vice president.

The new funds are:

  • The Patricia Washburn Christ Charitable Endowment to support the Arts of the Pamlico in Washington
  • The Nancy Swindell Baum Memorial Endowment to support the organ at St. George’s Episcopal Church in Engelhard
  • The St. George’s Episcopal Church Organ Fund also to support the organ at St. George’s Episcopal Church in Engelhard

Bill RichBill Rich will serve as the new vice president of the BHCF advisory board. He is a Hyde County native and resident of Ocracoke Island with his wife. He worked in real estate development and farm management for 42 years. In 2013, he became the Hyde County Manager and retired in 2018. In addition to BHCF, he serves on the boards of the Partnership for the Sounds, UNC School of Government Foundation and the Albemarle Rural Planning Organization.


“We are very excited to welcome these new funds to our local family of funds and have Bill serve as vice president of the BHCF board of advisors,” O'Neal said. “We look forward to working with our new fundholders and board officer to benefit our local community.”
