Bertie-Hertford Community Foundation awards nearly $3,250 in local grants

The board of advisors of the Bertie-Hertford Community Foundation recently announced $3,250 in local grant awards from its community grantmaking fund.

This year the board granted:

• $1,400 to the Bertie County Arts Council for arts education expansion
• $1,000 to the Roanoke Chowan Humane Society for cat spay and neuter
• $850 to the Union Rural Fire Department of Hertford County, Inc for engine ladder test and repair

John Tayloe, board president, thanked the community for its continued support of the Bertie-Hertford Community Foundation. “We are proud to support these nonprofit programs that are so vital to the community,” he said. “We are grateful to the many generous individuals and organizations that have supported our work to inspire philanthropy across our community.”
