BHCF board members conduct site visits
Several members of the Beaufort-Hyde Community Foundation (BHCF) board of advisors traveled to conduct visits at nonprofit grant recipient sites.
The first site visit was in Aurora to visit the TLC (Teens Leading Change) Community Garden by Be Global.
Students gave presentations to the board members on what the project has meant to them and how they are learning the art of gardening, healthy eating and even business by selling the produce at the local farmers market.
The teens were accepted into this program through an interview process.
The next stop was in Hyde County to visit the Mattamuskeet Senior Center.
Board members heard from Shari Harris, with the Albemarle Commission of Aging, on the Meals on Wheels program in Hyde County.
