Brunswick County Community Foundation awards $6,000 in local grants

The board of advisors of the Brunswick County Community Foundation recently announced $6,000 in local grant awards from its community grantmaking fund and U. S. Open King Mackerel Tournament Endowment.

This year the board granted:

• $1,000 to the Autism Society of North Carolina for resource specialists in Brunswick County
• $500 to the Brunswick County Literacy Council, Inc. for the Literacy For All program
• $1,000 to the Coastal Horizons Center, Inc. for general operating support
• $1,000 to Four Wheels and 1 Home for the CARS4theCounty.org program
• $1,000 to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, Inc. for dementia care
• $1,000 to The Carousel Center for general operating support
• $500 to WAVES 4 K.I.D.S. for operational accounting support

Barbara Patten, board president, thanked the community for its continued support of the Brunswick County Community Foundation. “We are proud to support these nonprofit programs that are so vital to the community,” she said. “We are grateful to the many generous individuals and organizations that have supported our work to inspire philanthropy across our community.”
