Can your classroom use a grant for a project?
The Franklin County Community Foundation has announced the availability of small grants to teachers in Franklin County from its Education Fund. The mini-grants program was established to encourage creativity in effective teaching throughout the Franklin County School System.
All public school teachers and support personnel in grades Pre-K through 12 are eligible to apply for grants up to $350.00 for classroom projects or enrichment programs. Applications for technology-based projects can be funded by the Whitesburg Electronics Fund housed under the Education Fund.
“Now, more than ever, with budget cuts and the increase of students, we are happy to support our teachers with these grants for their classrooms,” said Dr. Diane Fleming, chair of the Education Grants Committee for the Franklin County Community Foundation Board of Directors.
Applications are available (see link below) or by contacting Jeanne Lawson at the North Carolina Community Foundation at 919-256-6914. The deadline for submitting applications is Tuesday, October 25, 2011.
