Carteret hosts 27th annual “Golfing for Grants”

The Carteret Community Foundation hosted 72 local golfers at its 27th annual golf tournament, held at the Morehead City Country Club. Proceeds from “Golfing for Grants” support the affiliate’s local grantmaking fund. 

“All of the golfers enjoyed a beautiful spring day to support a great charitable effort,” said Pat Rauhauser, Carteret Community Foundation president.

This year’s winners were:  1st Place- Steve Chalk, Brooks Jernigan, Steven Chalk, Lawton Nisbet;  2nd Place-Jimmy Paylor, Bob Daves, Ryan Hollar, Corey Lewis: 3rd Place- Sammy Brooks, Ron Perry, Darell Fan, David Currie: 4th Place – Eric Gregson, Michah Shepard, Jeff Nelson, Tom Smith. Closest to the Pin winners included: Darrell Fan at hole #2, Rich Moreyra at hole #5, Sandy Howard at hole #10, John Harris at hole #13, and Steven Chalk at hole #15.
