Cherokee County Community Foundation awards nearly $1,800 in local grants

The board of advisors of the Cherokee County Community Foundation recently announced $1,800 in local grant awards from its community grantmaking fund.

This year the board granted:

  • $500 to the Friends of Murphy Public Library for the Celebrating Diversity: Recognizing Contributions of Various Ethnic Groups program
  • $500 to the North Carolina Symphony for virtual music education programs for Cherokee County students
  • $760 to Serenity Family Services to support relief in response to COVID-19

Kate DeLong, board president, thanked the community for its continued support of the Cherokee County Community Foundation. “We are proud to support these nonprofit programs that are so vital to the community,” she said. “We are grateful to the many generous individuals and organizations that have supported our work to inspire philanthropy across our community.”
