Columbus County Community Foundation awards more than $6,800 in local grants
The board of advisors of the Columbus County Community Foundation announces $6,810 in local grant awards from its community grantmaking fund.
This year’s nonprofit recipients included:
- $800 to Columbus Baptist Association for the Toy Store
- $800 to Columbus County Literacy Council for the Each One Teach One program
- $800 to Columbus County Sheriff’s Office for the drug prevention awareness program
- $800 to Families First, Inc. for the Safe Dates program
- $1,000 to Kelly Youth Focus Center for general operating support
- $800 to Lake Waccamaw Food Ministry for general operating support
- $800 to Living Hope Pregnancy Support Services for the Earn While You Learn Incentive program
- $500 to Prevent Blindness North Carolina for Star Pupils Columbus County
- $510 to Tabor City Elementary School for the Edible Learning Lab After School program
Becky High, board president, thanked the community for its support of the Columbus County Community Foundation. “These grants are important to our community and our quality of life,” she said. “Critical programs would not be possible without the generosity of many individuals and organizations that have supported Columbus County’s community grantmaking fund.”
