Columbus County Community Foundation awards more than $7,000 in local grants

The board of advisors of the Columbus County Community Foundation announces $7,060 in local awards from the community grantmaking fund.

This year the board will grant:

  • $500 to Lump to Laughter for the When My Single-Parent Has Breast Cancer, “What about ME?” program
  • $1,000 to Prevent Blindness North Carolina for the Star Pupils Columbus County program
  • $1,254 to Living Hope Pregnancy Support Services for the Earn While You Learn incentive program
  • $500 to The HELP Mission Inc. for family assistance programs
  • $1,298 to the American Heart Association for the CPR in Schools: Training the Next Generation of Lifesavers program
  • $1,254 to the Columbus County Literacy Council for the Each One Teach One program
  • $1,254 to the Friends of the NC Museum of Natural Sciences at Whiteville for the Nature Neighborhood: Creating a Place for Wildlife program

Becky High, CCCF board president, thanked the community for its support of the Columbus County Community Foundation. “We are proud to support these nonprofit programs that are so important to our community,” she said. “We are grateful to the many generous individuals and organizations that have supported the Columbus County Community Foundation and our work to inspire philanthropy across our community.”
