Community fundraising campaign marks another year of success
For the 12th year, many of our affiliate foundations participated in an annual fundraising challenge during November, each receiving a proportional match from NCCF for gifts made toward their community grantmaking funds.
Called the Chairman’s Challenge, this effort raised over $600,000 in contributions toward community grantmaking in 2024 for NCCF’s affiliate foundations in the eastern and central regions of the state.
Due to Hurricane Helene, we did not hold a Chairman’s Challenge campaign in western North Carolina this year. However, a generous NCCF supporter gifted each western affiliate with the amount raised during the 2023 campaign, including the NCCF match. This generous gift allowed our affiliates to focus on rebuilding their communities rather than fundraising.
Since it began in 2013, Chairman’s Challenge has generated more than $6.7 million in gifts. All money raised during this campaign supports the community grantmaking endowments of our affiliates, increasing their local impact.
As affiliate grantmaking kicks off for 2025 with the first applications opening for nonprofits on Feb. 28, we know these contributions will go a long way toward building philanthropic support in the communities we serve.
We are so grateful to all our affiliate advisory board members for their participation and leadership, and to our many Chairman’s Challenge donors and fundholders who contributed to the campaign.
You can make a financial contribution to our affiliates at any time of the year. Make a donation to one in your community today!
