Community grants available from the Wilkes Community Foundation (June 2020)

The board of advisors of the Wilkes Community Foundation is accepting grant applications from nonprofits serving needs in the local community.

Funds are available for nonprofit organizations serving needs in Wilkes County and will be awarded from its community grantmaking fund and Kyle Hayes Memorial Endowment.

Past grants have generally ranged from $1,000 to $2,500. Total grantmaking will not exceed $8,000. Since 1994, the WCF has awarded more than $100,000 in grants for projects and organizations spanning a wide range of issues including education and youth development, health and wellness, human services, historic preservation and economic development.

Applications are available online beginning June 19. Visit this page for information about applying. The deadline for applications is noon July 21.

Grants are not available for regranting purposes, capital campaigns, capital improvements, out-of-state travel or for individuals. Funds are awarded by the board of advisors of the Wilkes Community Foundation, an affiliate of the North Carolina Community Foundation.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for our nonprofits to expand their impact in our local community,” said Charlie White, WCF board president. “We are excited to partner with our local nonprofit community to continue supporting Wilkes County.”
