Franklin County Community Foundation awards more than $1,300 in local grants

The board of advisors of the Franklin County Community Foundation announces $1,350 in local grant awards from its community grantmaking fund in 2017.

This year’s nonprofit recipients are:

• $850 to Care & Share Center, Inc. for general operating support
• $500 to Prevent Blindness North Carolina for Star Pupils Franklin County

Al Wheless, board president, thanked the community for its support of the Franklin County Community Foundation. “These grants are important to our community and our quality of life,” he said. “Critical programs would not be possible without the generosity of many individuals and organizations that have supported Franklin County’s community fund.”
