The 2011 grantees, awards and projects are:

Alleghany Connections, $900 for Netbook Computers for the After-School Tutoring Program
Alleghany County Schools, $1,000 for Alleghany Junior Appalachian Musicians
Appalachian Senior Programs, $300 for the Foster Grandparent and Senior Companion Programs
Carolina Cross Connection, $275 for Repairs & Reassurance for Residents in Need in Alleghany County.
National Society To Prevent Blindness, $265 for Vision Screening and Eye Care in Alleghany County.
Second Harvest Food Bank Of Northwest North Carolina, $500 for Partner Agency Food Support in Alleghany County

This marks the ninth year of grantmaking for the ACCF. During that time, more than $16,000 has been awarded to deserving nonprofit organizations serving Alleghany County through an annual competitive grantmaking process.
