{"title":"Grants awarded to local nonprofits","content":"<p>The 2011 grantees, awards and projects are:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Alleghany Connections, $900 for Netbook Computers for the After-School Tutoring Program<\/li>\r\n<li>Alleghany County Schools, $1,000 for Alleghany Junior Appalachian Musicians<\/li>\r\n<li>Appalachian Senior Programs, $300 for the Foster Grandparent and Senior Companion Programs<\/li>\r\n<li>Carolina Cross Connection, $275 for Repairs &amp; Reassurance for Residents in Need in Alleghany County.<\/li>\r\n<li>National Society To Prevent Blindness, $265 for Vision Screening and Eye Care in Alleghany County.<\/li>\r\n<li>Second Harvest Food Bank Of Northwest North Carolina, $500 for Partner Agency Food Support in Alleghany County<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>This marks the ninth year of grantmaking for the ACCF.
