Greene County Community Foundation awards more than $4,000 in local grants (November 2017)
The board of advisors of the Greene County Community Foundation announces $4,210 in local grant awards from its community grantmaking fund.
This year’s nonprofit recipients are:
- $510 to Girl Scouts – North Carolina Coastal Pines for the Greene County girl scout leadership experience
- $1,300 to Greene County Public Library for early literacy skills for toddlers and preschoolers
- $1,100 to Muscular Dystrophy Association for summer camp
- $1,300 to Prevent Blindness North Carolina for Star Pupils Greene County
Michael Rhodes, board president, thanked the community for its support of the Greene County Community Foundation. “These grants are important to our community and our quality of life,” he said. “Critical programs would not be possible without the generosity of many individuals and organizations that have supported Greene County’s community fund.”
