Harnett County Community Foundation awards $6,270 in local grants

The board of advisors of the Harnett County Community Foundation recently announced $6,270 in local grant awards from the community grantmaking fund.

This year the board granted:

  • $900 to the Autism Society of North Carolina for Autism Resource Specialists in Harnett County
  • $1,620 to the DUMA Food pantry for community food relief
  • $500 to Facing Giants for general operating support
  • $750 to the Fort Bragg Armed Services YMCA for Operation Hero
  • $500 to Simply Girls Inc. for the afterschool program
  • $500 to Special Olympics North Carolina for Special Olympics North Carolina - Harnett County
  • $1,000 to Triangle South Literacy Works for the Literacy for All program
  • $500 to the Western Harnett Lions Club for vision screening

Kathryn Tart, board president, thanked the community for its support of the Harnett County Community Foundation. “We are proud to support these nonprofit programs that are so vital to the community,” she said. “We are grateful to the many generous individuals and organizations that have supported our work to inspire philanthropy across our community.”
